     Henry Allen Maynard Denny was born on 28 March 1887.1 He was the son of Edmund Barry Denny and Emily Barclay Allen.2 He and Kathleen Mary Goddard were divorced.1 He married, firstly, Kathleen Mary Goddard, daughter of Walter Werden Goddard, on 22 May 1926.1 He married, secondly, Elsi Margaret Williams, daughter of R. O. Williams, on 23 February 1950.1
     Henry Allen Maynard Denny fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 6th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment.1
