     John Cotton is the son of Sir Richard Cotton and Elizabeth Venables.1
     He was ancestor of the Cottons of Ridware and the Cottons of Bould and Crackmarsh, Staffordshire.1 He was living in 1457.1 He was living in 1462.1

     Mary de Wesenham was the daughter of Robert de Wesenham and Agnes de Brus.1 She married, firstly, William Cotton, son of Sir Richard Cotton and Elizabeth Venables.1 She married, thirdly, Thomas Lacy.1 She married, secondly, Sir Thomas Billing after 1455.1 She died on 14 March 1499.1 She was buried at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster, London, England.1
     Her married name became Lacy.1 Her married name became Cotton.1 From after 1455, her married name became Billing.1
