     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Imperial Yeomanry.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Irish Guards.1 He fought in the First World War.1

     From 4 July 1908, her married name became Rowan-Hamilton.
