Hon. Vanessa Margaret Borwick was born in 1878. She was the daughter of Robert Hudson Borwick, 1st Baron Borwick and Caroline Smith Johnston.1 She married Captain Edward Henry Dormer, son of Hon. Hubert Francis Dormer and Mary Jane Elizabeth Digby, on 24 June 1903.1 She died on 16 June 1962.1

Robert Hudson Borwick, 1st Baron Borwick was born on 21 January 1845.2 He was the son of George Borwick and Jane Hudson.2 He married Caroline Smith Johnston, daughter of Reverend Richard Daniel Johnston, on 6 March 1872.2 He died on 27 January 1936 at age 91 at Nice, FranceG.2
He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.)2 He was chairman of George Borwick and Sons.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for London.1 He was appointed Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.2 He was appointed Knight on 18 December 1902.2 He was created 1st Baronet Borwick, of Hawkshead, co. Lancaster [U.K.] on 1 July 1916.2 He was created 1st Baron Borwick, of Hawkshead, co. Lancaster [U.K.] on 17 July 1922.2
