     Sir Richard Molesworth Staples, 17th Bt. was educated at St. Andrew's College, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 He fought in the Second World War, in Burma.1 He was with the Royal Air Force between 1940 and 1952.1 He was with the Royal New Zealand Air Force between 1952 and 1959.1 He succeeded to the title of 17th Baronet Staples, of Lissan, co. Tyrone and Faghanvale, co. Londonderry [I., 1628] in 1999.3
