Arthur George Marcus Douglas de la Poer Beresford, 6th Baron Decies was born on 24 April 1915.2 He was the son of John Graham Hope de la Poer Beresford, 5th Baron Decies and Helen Vivien Gould.2 He married, firstly, Ann Christina Margo Trevor, daughter of Sidney Walter Trevor, on 21 October 1937.2 He married, secondly, Diana Turner-Cain, daughter of W/Cdr. George Turner-Cain, on 12 September 1945.2 He died in 1992.2
He gained the rank of Flying Officer in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was decorated with the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.) (U.S.).2 He succeeded to the title of 6th Baron Decies, of Decies, co. Waterford [I., 1812] on 31 January 1944.2
