He married Lou Birchie Ayers, daughter of Simpson Green Ayers and Hattie Hayes, on 19 August 1906 at Tippah County, Mississippi, U.S.A.. He died on 5 February 1935 at age 51 at Grayson County, Texas, U.S.A..
     William Jefferson Blythe II was named for an uncle.
