     Alexander Home, 4th Earl of Home was the son of James Home, 3rd Earl of Home and Lady Jean Douglas.1 He married Lady Anne Sackville, daughter of Richard Sackville, 5th Earl of Dorset, on 19 April 1671.1 He died in 1674, without issue.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow in 1666.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Lord Home [S., 1473] in December 1666.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl of Home [S., 1605] in December 1666.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Dunglas [S., 1605] in December 1666.1 He held the office of Gentleman of the Privy Chamber in 1671.1
