     Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia-Carignano was born on 6 July 1852.¹ He was the son of Vittorio Emanuele II di Savoia-Carignano, Re di Sardegna and Adelheid Franziska Erzherzogin von Österreich.¹ He died on 6 July 1852.¹

     Emanuela Maria Alberta Vittoria di Roverbella was born illegitimately on 6 September 1853.¹ She was the daughter of Vittorio Emanuele II di Savoia-Carignano, Re di Sardegna and Laura Bon.¹ She died circa 1890.¹

     Major Henry Godwin Awdry was born on 14 February 1911.¹ He was the son of Major Charles Selwyn Awdry and Constance Lilias Bateson.¹ He married Philippa Joyce Holman, daughter of Clifford Evan Holman, on 5 May 1947.¹ He died on 25 June 2002 at age 91 at Shaftesbury, Dorset, England^G.²

     Major Charles Selwyn Awdry was born on 23 March 1877.¹ He was the son of Charles Awdry and Margaret Helen Moberly.¹ He married Constance Lilias Bateson, daughter of J. Edwin Bateson, on 27 October 1903.¹ He died on 25 March 1918 at age 41, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He lived at Notton, Lacock, Wiltshire, England.² He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹

     Philippa Joyce Holman was the daughter of Clifford Evan Holman.¹ She married Major Henry Godwin Awdry, son of Major Charles Selwyn Awdry and Constance Lilias Bateson, on 5 May 1947.¹ She died on 26 April 2002 at Shaftesbury, Dorset, England^G.²
     From 5 May 1947, her married name became Awdry.

     Godwin Anthony Awdry was born on 3 April 1948.¹ He is the son of Major Henry Godwin Awdry and Philippa Joyce Holman.¹

     Robert Henry Awdry was born on 24 February 1951.¹ He is the son of Major Henry Godwin Awdry and Philippa Joyce Holman.¹

     Joanna L. Hardie is the daughter of Timothy Hardie.¹ She married Peter Gerald Maitland-Carew, son of Hon. Gerald Edward Ian Maitland-Carew and Rosalind Averil Speke.¹
     Joanna L. Hardie also went by the nick-name of Josy.¹ Her married name became Maitland-Carew.¹
