     Lt.-Gen. Gustavus Francis Munro was born on 19 October 1834.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Munro of Foulis, 9th Bt. and Amelia Browne.2 He married Edith Thomasine Hampton, daughter of John William Hampton, on 8 August 1865.1 He died on 19 March 1908 at age 73.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the Royal Marines Light Infantry.1
