     William Grove is the son of Robert Grove and Joane Combe.2 He married Thomasin Mayhew, daughter of Edward Mayhew, circa 1563.1
     William Grove was admitted to Gray's Inn.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shaftesbury in 1557.1 He purchased Ferne in 1563.1 He purchased Sedgehill in 1578.1 He also had two older sons and four daughters.1
