     Charles Cockburn of Sandybed is the son of Adam Cockburn, Lord Ormiston and Lady Susanna Hamilton.² He married Margaret Haldane, daughter of John Haldane, 14th of Gleneagles and Helen Erskine, in 1720.¹

     George Haldane, 18th of Gleneagles was baptised on 15 June 1729.² He was the son of Charles Cockburn of Sandybed and Margaret Haldane.² He married by contract, firstly, Bethia Dundas, daughter of Thomas Dundas of Fingask and Lady Janet Maitland, on 9 May 1766.² He married, secondly, Margaret Drummond, daughter of James Francis Edward Drummond, 5th Viscount Strathallan and Euphemia Gordon, in December 1779.² He died on 2 March 1799 at age 69.²
     He was given the name of George Cockburn at birth.² His name was legally changed to George Haldane.² On 5 August 1768 he was served heir to his uncle in lands and baronies of Gleneagles and Haldane.² He had two other sons and two other daughters (all died unmarried) by his second wife.²

     Christopher Earbery Spread was born in 1811.¹ He was the son of Commander John Mathias Spread and Angela Hayes.¹ He died on 19 November 1869 at Bayswater, London, England^G.¹

     Henry Spread was the son of Commander John Mathias Spread and Angela Hayes.¹ He died in 1837.¹

     John Duncan was the son of Alexander Duncan, 3rd of Lundie and Helen Haldane.² He died at China^G.¹
     He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹

     Jane Spread was the daughter of Commander John Mathias Spread and Angela Hayes.¹ She died in 1844, unmarried.¹

     Mary Smythe is the daughter of James Smythe of Methven.² She married Colonel Alexander Duncan, 4th of Lundie, son of Alexander Duncan, 3rd of Lundie and Helen Haldane.¹
     Her married name became Duncan.¹

     Sarah Spread was the daughter of Commander John Mathias Spread and Angela Hayes.¹ She died in 1839, unmarried.¹

     Henry George Fenton Spread was born in 1838 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland^G.¹ He was the son of John William Spread and Emma le Cam.¹ He married Louisa Amelia Castles.¹
