     Lt.-Col. Charles Frederick Hulse was born on 30 April 1843.1 He was the son of Charles Hulse and Georgina Amelia Buller.2 He married Jessie Marian Thackwell, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Joseph Edwin Thackwell, on 11 November 1875.1 He died on 7 February 1902 at age 58, without issue.1
     Lt.-Col. Charles Frederick Hulse gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1
