John Haig is the son of Robert Haig of Throsk and Elspeth Abercromby.2 He married, firstly, Isobel Ramsay, daughter of Alexander Ramsay of Alloa, on 1 March 1660.1 He married, secondly, Janet Maine on 29 June 1683.1
He lived at Orchard Farm, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, ScotlandG.1 He had two other sons (both died young) and two daughters by his first wife, and five daughters by his second wife.1
