     James Brander Dunbar was born on 10 October 1875.¹ He was the son of James Brander Dunbar-Brander and Alice Grant.² He married Noela Whiting, daughter of Matthew Noel Whiting, on 8 February 1922.¹ He died on 25 December 1969 at age 94.¹
     James Brander Dunbar was baptised with the name of James Brander Dunbar-Brander.¹ He fought in the Boer War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He fought in the British Central East Africa Campaign in 1900.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Reserve of Officers, Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders.¹ He fought in the Sudan Campaign between 1903 and 1904.¹ He was Superior Burgh of Lossiemouth.¹ He fought in the First World War, with West African Forces in Sierra Leone.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Elgin.¹ His name was legally changed to James Brander Dunbar.¹

     Noela Whiting was the daughter of Matthew Noel Whiting.² She married James Brander Dunbar, son of James Brander Dunbar-Brander and Alice Grant, on 8 February 1922.¹ She died on 20 August 1975.¹
     From 8 February 1922, her married name became Dunbar.¹

     Juliette Dunbar was born on 5 January 1923.¹ She was the daughter of James Brander Dunbar and Noela Whiting.² She married Herbert Lawrence Miller on 9 December 1957.¹ She died in December 1987 at age 64.¹
     From 9 December 1957, her married name became Miller.

     Una Dunbar was born on 15 May 1924.¹ She was the daughter of James Brander Dunbar and Noela Whiting.² She died on 16 November 1987 at age 63, without issue.¹

     Archibald Alexander Dunbar was born on 23 April 1877.¹ He was the son of James Brander Dunbar-Brander and Alice Grant.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of Francis Edward Thompson, on 1 November 1902.¹ He married, secondly, Frances Emily (?) on 22 September 1919.¹ He died on 31 March 1953 at age 75.¹
     Archibald Alexander Dunbar was with the Imperial Forest Service.¹ He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.¹ He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.).¹ He was invested as a Zoological Society (F.Z.S.).¹

     Elizabeth Thompson was the daughter of Francis Edward Thompson.² She married Archibald Alexander Dunbar, son of James Brander Dunbar-Brander and Alice Grant, on 1 November 1902.¹ She died on 22 May 1903, without issue.¹
     From 1 November 1902, her married name became Dunbar.¹
