     Sir Alexander Dunbar of Northfield, 5th Bt. was born on 12 January 1742.1 He was the son of Archibald Dunbar of Newton, Thunderton and Duffus and Helen Dunbar.2 He married Hon. Margaret Arbuthnott, daughter of John Arbuthnott, 6th Viscount of Arbuthnott, on 21 April 1769.1 He died on 20 December 1791 at age 49.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Dunbar, of Northfield [N.S., 1700] in 1776.1 On 8 October 1776 he was served heir to the 3rd Bt.2 He was a practising advocate.1

     Mary Aynscombe Mossop was the daughter of Reverend John Mossop.1 She married Sir William Alexander Baillie-Hamilton, son of Admiral William Alexander Baillie-Hamilton and Lady Harriet Hamilton, on 21 June 1871.1 She died on 6 October 1919.1
     From 21 June 1871, her married name became Baillie-Hamilton.1
