     John Sarne Yorke was born on 12 October 1938.1 He is the son of Major Gerald Joseph Yorke and Angela Vivien Duncan.2 He married, firstly, Jean Victoria Reynolds, daughter of Anthony Reynolds, on 4 July 1967.1 He married, secondly, C. Julia Allen, daughter of Herbert M. Allen, in 1992.1
     John Sarne Yorke was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.) in 1965.1 He lived in 2003 at Forthampton Court, Gloucestershire, England.1
