     Sir Edmund Verney was born on 7 April 1596.3 He was the son of Sir Edmund Verney and Mary Blakeney.1,3 He married Margaret Denton, daughter of Sir Thomas Denton.3 He died on 23 October 1642 at age 46 at EdgehillG, killed in action.1
     He held the office of Knight Marshal and Standard-Bearer to King CHarles I.3 He fought in the Battle of Edgehill on 23 October 1642.1

     Sir Ralph Verney, 1st Bt. was born on 12 November 1613.3 He was the son of Sir Edmund Verney and Margaret Denton.1,4 He was baptised on 18 November 1613 at Hillesdon, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.3 He married Mary Blacknall, daughter of John Blacknall, on 31 May 1629 at Hillesdon, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.3 He died on 24 September 1696 at age 82.3 He was buried on 9 October 1696.3
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aylesbury between April 1640 and May 1640.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aylesbury between November 1640 and 22 September 1645.3 He was appointed Knight on 8 March 1640/41.3 In 1643 he went into exile, after refusing to sign the Covenant.3 In 1653 he returned, and was imprisoned.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Great Bedwyn between 1660 and 17 May 1660.3 He was created 1st Baronet Verney, of Middle Claydon, co. Buckingham [England] on 16 March 1660/61.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckingham in 1681.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckingham between 1685 and 1687.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Buckingham from 1689 to 1690.3

     Mary Blacknall was born circa 1616.1 She was the daughter of John Blacknall.1 She married Sir Ralph Verney, 1st Bt., son of Sir Edmund Verney and Margaret Denton, on 31 May 1629 at Hillesdon, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1 She died on 10 May 1650 at Blois, Berri, FranceG.1 She was buried on 19 November 1650 at Middle Claydon, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1
     From 31 May 1629, her married name became Verney.1

     John Verney, 1st Viscount Fermanagh was born on 5 November 1640.2 He was the son of Sir Ralph Verney, 1st Bt. and Mary Blacknall.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Palmer, daughter of Ralph Palmer and Alice White, on 27 May 1680 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He married, secondly, Mary Lawley, daughter of Sir Francis Lawley, 2nd Bt. and Anne Whitmore, on 10 July 1692 at Westminster Abbey, Westminster, London, EnglandG.2 He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Baker, daughter of Daniel Baker and Barbara (?), on 8 April 1696 at Kensington, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 23 June 1717 at age 76.3 He was buried on 28 June 1717 at Middle Claydon, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.3 His will was proven (by probate) on 31 July 1717.3
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Verney, of Middle Claydon, co. Buckingham [E., 1661] on 24 September 1696.2 He was created 1st Baron Verney of Belturbet, co. Cavan [Ireland] on 16 June 1703.3 He was created 1st Viscount of the County of Fermanagh [Ireland] on 16 June 1703.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Buckinghamshire between 1710 and 1715.3 His last will was dated 23 June 1713. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Tory) for Amersham between 1715 and 1717.3
