     Lt.-Col. Standish de Courcy O'Grady was born on 27 July 1872.1 He was the son of Standish de Courcy O'Grady and Isabella Shepherd.1 He married Esther Alice Vigors, daughter of Colonel Philip Doyne Vigors, on 7 June 1911.1 He died on 23 December 1920 at age 48.1
     He was educated at Tonbridge School, Tonbridge, Kent, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)1 He was commissioned in 1898.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Bachelor of Arts in Obstretics (B.A.O.)1 He fought in the East African Campaign, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1918.1

     Esther Alice Vigors was born circa 1884.1 She was the daughter of Colonel Philip Doyne Vigors.1 She married Lt.-Col. Standish de Courcy O'Grady, son of Standish de Courcy O'Grady and Isabella Shepherd, on 7 June 1911.1 She died on 24 July 1970.1
     From 7 June 1911, her married name became O'Grady.1

     Lt.-Col. Gerald Vigors de Courcy O'Grady, The O'Grady of Kilballyowen was born on 5 September 1912.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Standish de Courcy O'Grady and Esther Alice Vigors.1 He married, firstly, Pamela Violet Thornton, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Anson Thornton, on 30 April 1941.2 He and Pamela Violet Thornton were divorced in 1961.2 He married, secondly, Mollie McLean, daughter of Robert McLean, Jr., on 18 November 1961.2 He died on 7 June 1993 at age 80 at County Limerick, Ireland.3,4
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Oxfordshire Yeomanry in 1945.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.2 He was an instructor in 1947 at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He retired from the military in 1947, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Royal Artillery.2 He lived at Kilballyowen, County Limerick, IrelandG.2

     Lt.-Col. Philip Henry Vigors de Courcy O'Grady was born on 23 August 1916.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Standish de Courcy O'Grady and Esther Alice Vigors.1 He married Patricia Denise Hunt, daughter of Robert Hunt, on 15 February 1955.1 He died on 6 January 2013 at age 96.2
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commissioned in 1936.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1947 in the Sudan Defence Force.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1950 in the 4th Regiment, Royal Horse Artillery.1 He was an instructor between 1953 and 1956 at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was commanding officer of the King's Troop, Royal Horce Artillery between 1956 and 1957.1 He was commanding officer between 1958 and 1960, 2nd Field Regiment.1 He retired from the military in 1962, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Royal Artillery.1 He lived in 1976 at Inchirourke, Askeaton, County Limerick, IrelandG.1
