     Charles Vere Dashwood was born in 1745.1 He was the son of Robert Dashwood and Anne Lewes.2 He married Diana Dashwood, daughter of Samuel Dashwood, on 8 July 1765.1

     Captain James Montgomerie Caulfeild was born on 22 February 1855.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. William Montgomerie Stewart Caulfeild and Dorothea Jane French.2 He married Kathleen Ruth Crofton, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hugh Augustus Crofton and Amelia Harriet Farquharson, on 6 February 1889.3 He died on 26 October 1946 at age 91, without issue.3
     Captain James Montgomerie Caulfeild fought in the Egyptian War in 1882.1 He fought in the Sudan Campaign between 1883 and 1884.3 In 1894 he was on the Boundary Survey between Cameroons and the Niger Coast Protectorate.3 He fought in the Brass River Punitive Expedition in 1895.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.3 He was Harbour Master at Mauritius.3 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1

     Lt.-Col. Hugh Augustus Crofton was born on 6 June 1829.3 He was the son of Reverend Augustus Crofton and Charlotte Kirwan.2 He married, firstly, Amelia Harriet Farquharson, daughter of Captain Charles Farquharson, on 7 February 1856.3 He married, secondly, Joan Ruby Mackintosh, daughter of Donald Mackintosh, on 20 July 1892.3 He died on 7 April 1901 at age 71.3
     Lt.-Col. Hugh Augustus Crofton gained the rank of officer in the service of the 6th and 10th Regiments.4 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 1st Sussex Volunteers.3
