     Samuel Steuart Gladstone of Capenoch was born on 26 July 1837.1 He was the son of Thomas Steuart Gladstone and Elizabeth Field Clark.2,3 He married Sophia Musgrave, daughter of Sir George Musgrave, 10th Bt. and Charlotte Graham, on 3 August 1869.1 He died on 6 May 1909 at age 71.1
     He lived at Capenoch, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.4 He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.).4

Grace Loudenne Blyth.1 He married Agnes Nivison Cotts, daughter of Sir William Dingwall Mitchell Cotts, 1st Bt. and Agnes Nivison Sloane, on 2 January 1941.1 He and Agnes Nivison Cotts were divorced in 1952.1 He died on 11 February 1987 at age 79 at Wantage, Berkshire, England.2
     He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1
