     Gertrude Blakeney was the daughter of Major Robert Blakeney and Deborah Smyth.1 She married Colonel Robert Blakeney, son of Colonel John Blakeney and Grace Persse, on 28 May 1752.1 She died on 21 April 1757.1

     Colonel Robert Blakeney was the son of Colonel John Blakeney and Grace Persse.2 He married Gertrude Blakeney, daughter of Major Robert Blakeney and Deborah Smyth, on 28 May 1752.1 He died on 30 December 1762.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Athenry from 1747.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1753 in the service of the Galway Dragoons.2 He held the office of High Sheriff in 1754.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).2 He lived at Abbert, County Galway, Ireland.1
