     Maj.-Gen. St. John Desmond Arcedeckne-Butler was born on 30 November 1896.1 He was the son of St. John Henry Arcedeckne-Butler and Maud Geraldine Money.1 He married Ethel Helen Nesbit Walker, daughter of Colonel Reginald Selby Walker, on 15 July 1929.1 He died on 4 February 1959 at age 62.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Munster Fusiliers.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Signals.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.1

     From 15 July 1929, her married name became Arcedeckne-Butler.1
