     John Becher was born in 1700.1 He was the son of Sir John Becher and Hester Duddlestone.1 He was baptised on 6 April 1700 at St. Michael's, Bristol, EnglandG.2 He married Mary Townshend, daughter of Reverend Philip Townsend and Helen Galwey, on 19 August 1727.1,2 He died in 1738.2 His will was proven (by probate) on 4 August 1743.2
     In 1730 Mayor of Bristol issue (Stt that family). He d . She m.3 He lived at Creagh, Skibbereen, County Cork, IrelandG.1

     Mary Townshend was born in 1710.2 She was the daughter of Reverend Philip Townsend and Helen Galwey.1,3 She married, firstly, John Becher, son of Sir John Becher and Hester Duddlestone, on 19 August 1727.1,2 She married, secondly, Colonel Luke Mercer in 1739.1,2
     From 19 August 1727, her married name became Becher.1 From 1739, her married name became Mercer.1

     Henry Becher was born circa December 1759.2 He was the son of John Townsend Becher and Mary O'Donovan.1 He died circa December 1780 in a shooting accident on his 21st birthday, without issue. He left Creagh to his sister Mary.1
