     Benjamin Barton was born in 1795.1 He was the son of Saunders Barton and Judith Briscoe.1 He married, firstly, Eleanor Ryan in 1832 in a childless marriage.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth MacChean, daughter of John MacChean, in 1850 in a childless marriage.1
     Benjamin Barton was a practising attorney.1 He lived at Ballymack, Burnchurch, County Kilkenny, Ireland, which he sold to the Townsend family, which still owned it in 1975.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Kilkenny City between 1835 and 1838.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Kilkenny City between 1840 and 1842.1 He lived in 1846 at William Street, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland.1 He lived in 1851 at St. Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands.1
