     He held the office of High Sheriff in 1850.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Straffan House, Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG.1

     Major Hugh Lynedoch Barton was born on 30 August 1824.1 He was the son of Nathaniel Barton and Mary Susanna Scott.1 He married Hon. Anna Emily Massey, daughter of Eyre Massey, 3rd Baron Clarina of Elm Park and Susan Elizabeth Barton, on 18 April 1855.1 He died on 23 February 1899 at age 74.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 6th Inniskilling Fusiliers.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Kildare Rifles.1 He held the office of High Sheriff in 1861.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Straffan House, Straffan, County Kildare, IrelandG.1
