     Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft was born on 4 May 1909.1 He was the son of Sir Joseph Barcroft and Mary Agnetta Ball.1 He married, firstly, Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright, daughter of Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright and Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings, on 17 March 1939.1 He married, secondly, Helen Moreen Macdonald, daughter of Major James Victor Ferguson Macdonald, on 15 January 1959.1 He died on 20 December 1988 at age 79.2,3
     He was educated at Leighton Park School, Reading, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1930 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He graduated from Christ's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Skinners Horse (1st DYO Lancers), Indian Army.1 He held the office of Joint Master, Limurn Hunt between 1952 and 1958.1 He held the office of President, Kenya Arts and Crafts Society between 1955 and 1957.1

     Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright and Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings.1 She married Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft, son of Sir Joseph Barcroft and Mary Agnetta Ball, on 17 March 1939.1 She died on 1 August 1948.1
     From 17 March 1939, her married name became Barcroft.1

     She gained the rank of Captain in the Women's Royal Army Corps (W.R.A.C.)1 From 5 September 1973, her married name became Barrington-Ward.1 She graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)2 She was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)2

     Major John Craig Barrington-Ward was the son of John Grosvenor Barrington-Ward and Diana Beatrice Eleanor MacFarlane.1,2 He married Dr. Anna Mary Hermione Barcroft, daughter of Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft and Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright, on 5 September 1973.1 He died on 4 July 2013.2
     He was a torchbearer at the London Olympics in 1948.2 He was a sailor at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1 As of 1976, Major John Craig Barrington-Ward lived at Hewshott Copse, Liphook, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
