     Nicholas Montgomery Archdale was born on 27 July 1902.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Theodore Montgomery Archdale and Helen Alexander Russel.1 He married Shelia Beddoes, daughter of Lt.-Col. Claude Eustace Willoughby Beddoes, on 11 September 1923.1 He died on 16 December 1955 at age 53 at Chilliwack, British Columbia, CanadaG.1

     Shelia Beddoes was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Claude Eustace Willoughby Beddoes.1 She married, firstly, Nicholas Montgomery Archdale, son of Lt.-Col. Theodore Montgomery Archdale and Helen Alexander Russel, on 11 September 1923.1 She married, secondly, Colonel Duncan Smith on 17 January 1950.1
     From 11 September 1923, her married name became Archdale.1 From 17 January 1950, her married name became Smith.1 She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1 As of 1976, Shelia Beddoes lived at 103 Prestige Mansions, Somerset West, Cape Province, South AfricaG.1
