     William Robert Ancketill was born on 31 March 1820.1 He was the son of William Anketell and Sarah Maxwell.1 He married Madelina Selina Ker, daughter of David Ker, on 8 October 1844.1 He died on 9 March 1889 at age 68.1 He was buried at Ardquin Parish Church, Portaferry, County Down, Ireland.2
     He was given the name of William Robert Anketell at birth.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Monaghan Militia.1 In 1874 his name was legally changed to William Robert Ancketill, the family reverted to the original spelling of their patronymic by Deed Poll.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was an author of novels of Irish life.1 He lived at Quintin Castle, Portaferry, County Down, IrelandG.1

     Madelina Selina Ker was the daughter of David Ker.1 She married William Robert Ancketill, son of William Anketell and Sarah Maxwell, on 8 October 1844.1 She died on 8 April 1878.1
     From 8 October 1844, her married name became Ancketill.1

     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 1st Royal Scots, Lothian Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 3rd Belooch Regiment Native Infantry, Honourable East India Company Service (H.E.I.C.S.)1 He fought in the Afghan War in 1880.1 He fought in the Egyptian War in 1882.1

     Edith Matilda Ancketill was born on 5 November 1845.1 She was the daughter of William Robert Ancketill and Madelina Selina Ker.1 She married, firstly, Thomas John Knox, son of Most Rev. Robert Knox and Catherine Delia Fitzgibbon, on 8 August 1871, with issue.1 She married, secondly, Captain John Lewis Vaughan Henry, son of Mitchell Henry, on 10 February 1880, with further issue.1 She died on 9 July 1928 at age 82.1
     From 8 August 1871, her married name became Knox.1 From 10 February 1880, her married name became Henry.1

     Most Rev. Robert Knox was born on 25 September 1808.2 He was the son of Ven. Hon. Charles Knox and Hannah Bent.3 He married Catherine Delia Fitzgibbon, daughter of Thomas Gibbon Fitzgibbon and Eliza Osborne, on 5 October 1842.2 He died on 23 October 1893 at age 85.2
