     He gained the rank of Group Captain in the service of the Royal Air Force.¹ As of 1976, G./Capt. Richard Vernon Alexander lived at 11 Wraysbury Gardens, Wraysbury Close, Newlands, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa.¹
