John Scrymgeour, 1st Earl of Dundee1

     John Scrymgeour, 1st Earl of Dundee was the son of James Scrymgeour, 2nd Viscount Dudhope and Lady Isabella Ker.2 He married Lady Anne Ramsay, daughter of William Ramsay, 1st Earl of Dalhousie and Lady Margaret Carnegie, in July 1644.1 He died on 23 June 1668, without issue.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Scrimgeour [S., 1641] in 1644.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Dudhope [S., 1641] in 1644.1 In 1645 he raised a regiment of 250 horse.1 In 1645 he served under Montrose.1 In 1648 he served under Hamilton.1 In 1651 he carried the standard of King Charles II on the march to Worcester.1 He was wounded at Torwood.1 In 1654 he raised a regiment of horse under the Earl of Middlesex.1 He was captured and has his estates sequestered.1 He was created 1st Lord Scrimgeour and Innerkeithing [Scotland] in September 1660, with special remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Earl of Dundee [Scotland] in September 1660, with special remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1 He was created 1st Viscount of Dudhope [Scotland] in September 1660, with special remainder to heirs male whatsoever.1 On his death, the elder line of Dudhope expired but when he would normally have been succeeded in his titles and estates by his heir-male.2

     Harry Nicholls was born in 1876 at Sudbury, Suffolk, EnglandG.1 He married Florence Elizabeth Cross, daughter of Alfred William Cross and Elizabeth Hammond, in 1904.1 He died in 1948 at Dartford, Kent, EnglandG.1

     Lady Anne Ramsay is the daughter of William Ramsay, 1st Earl of Dalhousie and Lady Margaret Carnegie.2 She married, firstly, John Scrymgeour, 1st Earl of Dundee, son of James Scrymgeour, 2nd Viscount Dudhope and Lady Isabella Ker, in July 1644.1 She married, secondly, Sir Henry Bruce, 11th of Clackmannan, son of Robert Bruce, 10th of Clackmannan and Elizabeth Halyburton, on 13 October 1670.2
     After her marriage, Lady Anne Ramsay was styled as Viscountess Dudhope in July 1644. From July 1644, her married name became Scrymgeour.1 After her marriage, Lady Anne Ramsay was styled as Countess of Dundee in September 1660. From 13 October 1670, her married name became Bruce.2

David Scrymgeour1

     David Scrymgeour was the son of Sir James Scrymgeour of Dudhope and Egidia Maxwell.2 He died in 1471.1
     He was Chamberlain of the King's revenues north of the Tay.1 He lived at Sonahard, ScotlandG.1

Alexander Scrymgeour1

     Alexander Scrymgeour was the son of David Scrymgeour.2 He died in 1505.1
     He was a priest.1 He lived at Sonahard, ScotlandG.1 On 21 June 1500 he received a charter of Kirkton in Earlstradilty from Sir James Scrymgeour of Dudhope.1

Margaret Emily Innes1

     Margaret Emily Innes was the daughter of William Henry Innes of Largo.1 She married F/Lt. William Alexander Scrymgeour-Wedderburn, son of Frederick Lewis Scrymgeour-Wedderburn and Zaida Grace Erskine, in 1951.1 She died in 1988.1
     From 1951, her married name became Scrymgeour-Wedderburn.1
