Desmond Shane Chichester was born on 7 August 1919.1 He was the son of Shane Randolph Chichester and Madeline Herschel Whately.1 He married Patricia Pleydell-Railston, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry George Moreton Pleydell-Railston and Vivien Mansel-Pleydell, on 11 August 1951.1 He died on 23 February 2001 at age 81.1

Lt.-Col. Henry George Moreton Pleydell-Railston married Vivien Mansel-Pleydell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Edmund Morton Mansel-Pleydell and Emily Kathleen Grove, on 22 April 1919.2 He died on 23 February 1936.2
He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Rifle Brigade.2 He was given the name of Henry George Moreton Railston at birth.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 In 1920 his name was legally changed to Henry George Moreton Pleydell-Railston by Deed Poll.2
