Edward Warren Stokes Massy was born on 1 February 1882.1 He was the son of Arthur Wellington Massy and Emma Elizabeth Rhys Stokes.2 He died, young.1

Lt.-Gen. Hugh Royds Stokes Massy was born on 5 January 1884.1 He was the son of Arthur Wellington Massy and Emma Elizabeth Rhys Stokes.2 He married Maud Ina Nest Roch, daughter of Colonel Thomas James Roch, on 12 November 1912.1 He died on 21 May 1965 at age 81.2
He was educated at Bradfield College, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1916.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was Brigadier of the Southern Command between 1934 and 1938.1 He was Director of Military Training at the War Office between 1938 and 1939.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was Deputy Chief of the Imperial General Staff between 1939 and 1940.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1940.1 He retired from the military in 1943, with the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-General.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1944.1 He gained the rank of Colonel Commandant in 1945 in the Royal Artillery.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Pembrokeshire in 1946.2

Maud Ina Nest Roch was the daughter of Colonel Thomas James Roch.2 She married Lt.-Gen. Hugh Royds Stokes Massy, son of Arthur Wellington Massy and Emma Elizabeth Rhys Stokes, on 12 November 1912.1 She died on 9 October 1960.1
