     Emily Florence Lane was born on 29 September 1861 at Torquay, Devon, England.2,3 She was the daughter of Charles Sherriff Lane and Annie Midford.2 She married, firstly, Thomas William Bagnall in 1883 at All Saints Church, Strnaton, Hartlepool, County Durham, England.1,2 She married, secondly, John Edward Plender, son of William Plender and Elizabeth Agnes Smallpiece Vardy, on 16 August 1916.1,3 She died on 23 April 1932 at age 70 at Alassio, Italy.3
     From 1883, her married name became Bagnall.1,2 From 16 August 1916, her married name became Plender.1
