     Sir Douglas Frederick Rawdon Dawson was born on 25 April 1854.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Thomas Vesey Dawson and Hon. Augusta Frederica Annie FitzPatrick.1 He married Aimée Evelyn Pirie, daughter of Gordon Pirie, on 15 December 1903.1
     He became an unknown person 's adoptive father.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1 He fought in the Egypt Campaign in 1882.1 He fought in the Sudan Campaign.1 He fought in the Nile Expedition between 1884 and 1885.1 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet Colonel in the Coldstream Guards.1 He held the office of Secretary of the Order of the Garter in 1904.1 He was Comptroller in the Lord Chamberlain's Department in 1907.1

     Aimée Evelyn Pirie was born in 1864 at Chateau de Varennes, France.2 She was the daughter of Gordon Pirie.1 She married, firstly, Herbert Oakley in 1889.1,2 She married, secondly, Sir Douglas Frederick Rawdon Dawson, son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Thomas Vesey Dawson and Hon. Augusta Frederica Annie FitzPatrick, on 15 December 1903.1 She died on 24 December 1946 at Remenham Palace, Henley-on-Thames, London, England.2
     She became an unknown person 's adoptive mother.2 From 1889, her married name became Oakley.1 From 15 December 1903, her married name became Dawson.1 She was appointed Dame Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.) in 1918.3 She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)2

Richard Maitland Westenra Dawson was born on 30 January 1845.1 He was the son of Richard Dawson, 1st Earl of Dartrey and Augusta Stanley.1 He married Jane Emily Long, daughter of Colonel Samuel Long and Emily Herbert, on 20 August 1878.1 He died on 7 August 1914 at age 69 at Chelsea, London, EnglandG.1,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 92nd Highlanders.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1909.1
