     Sir Roger Joseph Gerrard Clifford, 7th Bt. was born on 5 June 1936.1 He is the son of Roger Charles Joseph Gerrard Clifford, 6th Bt. and Henrietta Millicent Elizabeth Kiver.2 He married Joanna Theresa Ward, daughter of Cyril James Ward, on 12 April 1968.1
     Sir Roger Joseph Gerrard Clifford, 7th Bt. was educated at Beaumont School, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.1 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Clifford, of Flaxbourne, in the province of Marlborough, in the colony of New Zealand [U.K., 1887] in 1982.1 He lived in 2003 at 10 Queen's Avenue, Fendalton, Christchurch, New Zealand.1
