     Sir John Clerke, 1st Bt. was born circa 1622.3 He was the son of Sir Francis Clerke and Grisel Woodruffe.2 He married Philadelphia Carr, daughter of Sir Edward Carr and Jane Onslow.1 He died on 7 October 1667.1 He was buried on 10 October 1667 at Tame, Oxfordshire, England.3 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 19 December 1667.3
     Sir John Clerke, 1st Bt. matriculated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 28 June 1639.3 He succeeded to the title of 1st Baronet Clerke, of Hitcham, co. Buckingham [England] on 13 July 1660.1 He lived at Hillingdon, Middlesex, England.1 He had four other sons and three daughters.1

     Philadelphia Carr was baptised on 14 September 1626.2 She was the daughter of Sir Edward Carr and Jane Onslow.1,2 She married Sir John Clerke, 1st Bt., son of Sir Francis Clerke and Grisel Woodruffe.1 She died on 9 August 1698 at age 71.1 She was buried on 12 August 1698 at Tame, Oxfordshire, England.2 Her will (dated 15 August 1695) was probated on 4 May 1669.2
     Her married name became Clerke.

     Sir William Clerke, 2nd Bt. was born on 9 July 1643.1 He was the son of Sir John Clerke, 1st Bt. and Philadelphia Carr.2 He married Elizabeth Muschamp, daughter of William Muschamp, before 1662.1 He died on 6 September 1678 at age 35 at Stoke, Surrey, England.3 He was buried at Shabbington, Buckinghamshire, England.3
     Sir William Clerke, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Clerke, of Hitcham, co. Buckingham [E., 1660] on 7 October 1667.1 He lived at Shabbington, Buckinghamshire, England.1
