     John Lane was born on 12 December 1669.1 He was the son of Captain Sir Thomas Lane and Abigail Wightwick.1 He married Mary Wyrley, daughter of Humphrey Wyrley, in April 1702.1 He died on 20 October 1748 at age 78.1 He was buried at St. Peter's Church, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.1
