     Dr. John Mudge was born in 1721.1 He was the son of Reverend Zachariah Mudge and Mary Fox.1 He married Jane (?).1 He died in 1793.1
     In 1777 he published a short treatise on inoculated smallpox.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1777.1 He was decorated with the Copley Medal (of the Royal Society), for making the best composition of metal for reflecting telescopes.1

     Reverend Zachariah Mudge was born in 1694.1 He married Mary Fox.1 He died on 4 April 1769.1
     Reverend Zachariah Mudge was educated in 1710 at Mr. Hallets Academy, Exeter, Devon, England.1 He was ordained on 21 September 1729.1 He was the Vicar in 1732 at St. Andrews Church, Plymouth, Devon, England.1 He held the office of Prebendary of Exeter.1
