     Ian Francis Wallace of that Ilk was born on 28 September 1929.1 He is the son of Colonel Robert Francis Hurter Wallace of that Ilk and Euphemia Hoskyns.2 He married Teresa Hyne Buckingham, daughter of Reverend Christopher Leigh Buckingham, on 2 February 1963.1
     Ian Francis Wallace of that Ilk was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Royal Army Service Corps and Arab Legion.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 11 December 1991.1 He lived in 2003 at 5 Lennox Street, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1
