     John Cherleton, 2nd Lord Cherleton was the son of John Cherleton, 1st Lord Cherleton and Hawyse ap Owen.1 He married Maud de Mortimer, daughter of Roger de Mortimer, 1st Earl of March and Joan de Geneville, Baroness Geneville, before 13 April 1319.1 He died before 30 August 1360.1
     John Cherleton, 2nd Lord Cherleton succeeded to the title of Lord of Powis [feudal baron] in 1353.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Lord Cherleton [E., 1313] in 1353.1 He fought in the Wars of Gascony.1 He held the office of Chamberlain of the Household.1
