     John Lane was born on 20 December 1752 at Bentley Hall, Staffordshire, England.1 He was the son of John Lane and Sarah Fowler.1 He married Sarah Lloyd on 20 January 1800.1 He died on 21 December 1824 at age 72 at King's Bromley, Staffordshire, England.1
     John Lane graduated from Queens' College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of High Steward of Burton-on-Trent.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1
