     Hon. Sir Alexander Carnegie was the son of David Carnegie, 1st Earl of Southesk and Margaret Lindsay.1 He married Margaret Arbuthnott, daughter of Sir Robert Arbuthnott of that Ilk and Margaret Fraser.2 He died in March 1681/82.1
     Hon. Sir Alexander Carnegie lived at Pittarrow, Kincardineshire, Scotland.1 He had six younger sons and three daughters.2
