     Catherine Brodie is the daughter of Joseph Brodie of Mentoun and Elizabeth Dunbar.^1,2 She married Sir Patrick Dunbar of Northfield, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Robert Dunbar of Northfield, 2nd Bt. and Mary Sinclair, in 1722.¹
      From 1722, her married name became Dunbar.

     Sir Robert Dunbar of Northfield, 2nd Bt. was the son of John Dunbar, 3rd of Hempriggs and Anne Fraser.² He married Mary Sinclair, daughter of Patrick Sinclair of Ulbster, in 1675.¹ He died in 1742.¹
     He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Dunbar, of Northfield [N.S., 1700] in 1711.¹

     Mary Sinclair is the daughter of Patrick Sinclair of Ulbster.² She married Sir Robert Dunbar of Northfield, 2nd Bt., son of John Dunbar, 3rd of Hempriggs and Anne Fraser, in 1675.³
      From 1675, her married name became Dunbar.
