     Colonel Richard Michael Aylmer was born on 5 October 1887.4 He was the son of Algernon Ambrose Michael Aylmer and Frances Sophia Dennis.2,3 He married Mona Alexander, daughter of Captain Conn Alexander and Gladys Constance Grimshaw, on 26 January 1939.1 He died in 1975.1
     Colonel Richard Michael Aylmer was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.4 He entered the military in 1908, in the service of the Royal Army Service Corps (R.A.S.C.).4 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.4 He fought in the First World War, during which he was wounded.
