     Lt.-Col. Charles Norman Buzzard was born on 29 April 1873.¹ He was the son of Thomas Buzzard and Isabel Wass.² He married, firstly, Isabel May D'Aguilar Jackson, daughter of Maj.-Gen. George D'Aguilar Jackson, on 11 February 1902.¹ He married, secondly, Baroness Elizabeth Wrangell Huene, daughter of Baron Hoyningen Huene, on 19 December 1922.¹ He died in April 1961.¹
     Lt.-Col. Charles Norman Buzzard fought in the First World War in 1914.¹ He was decorated with the award of Chevalier, Legion of Honour.¹ He was decorated with the award of Order of the Crown of Italy.¹ He was decorated with the award of Military Order of Savoy.¹ He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Royal Artillery.¹
