     Sir Arthur Michael Wood was the son of Arthur Henry Wood.2 He married Susan Studd Buxton, daughter of Alfred Barclay Buxton and Edith Mary Crossley Studd, on 6 November 1943.1 He died in 1987.2
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.S.)1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He was the founder and director general of The African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF - 'The Flying Doctors').1

2nd Lt. George Barclay Buxton1

     2nd Lt. George Barclay Buxton was born on 16 October 1892.1 He was the son of Reverend Barclay Fowell Buxton and Margaret Maria Amelia Railton.2 He died on 28 July 1917 at age 24, killed while flying.2
     He fought in the First World War, in British East Africa, Egypt and France.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the 5th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps.2

     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the First World War, iwhere he was severely wounded.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Duke of Wellington's Regiment.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917 and bar.1
