     William Montagu Baillie was born on 11 October 1827.1 He was the son of Evan Baillie of Dochfour and Lady Georgiana Frederica Montagu.1 He married Lady Theodosia Gertrude Proby, daughter of Admiral Granville Leveson Proby, 3rd Earl of Carysfort and Isabella Howard, on 10 September 1859.1 He died on 11 September 1902 at age 74.1
     William Montagu Baillie graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Bristol in 1860.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Inverness-shire.1
