Sir Richard Cholmley was born circa 1516.2 He was the son of Sir Roger Cholmley and Katherine Constable. He married Margaret Conyers, daughter of William Conyers, 1st Lord Conyers, circa 1537.2 He married Lady Catherine Clifford, daughter of Henry Clifford, 1st Earl of Cumberland and Lady Margaret Percy.3 He died on 17 May 1583.2
He lived at Roxby, Yorkshire, EnglandG.1 He was appointed Knight on 11 May 1544.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Yorkshire in 1558.2
