     He gained the rank of Private in the 42nd Highlanders.¹

     John Steuart Erskine was born on 8 November 1900.¹ He was the son of Thomas Edward Erskine and Amy Gertrude Bruce.¹ He married Rachel Diana Mary Rickman, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Wilmot Rickman, on 19 April 1928.¹ He died on 18 September 1981 at age 80.¹
     He fought in the First World War, in the 4th Battalion, King’s Own Regiment.¹ He graduated from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G, in 1942 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Rachel Diana Mary Rickman was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Wilmot Rickman.¹ She married John Steuart Erskine, son of Thomas Edward Erskine and Amy Gertrude Bruce, on 19 April 1928.¹ She died on 30 October 1997.¹
     From 19 April 1928, her married name became Erskine.

     David Steuart Erskine was born on 24 December 1929.¹ He is the son of John Steuart Erskine and Rachel Diana Mary Rickman.¹ He married Elizabeth Kramarev, daughter of Fyodor Ivanovitch Kramarev, on 10 May 1957.¹
     He graduated from Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada^G, in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He graduated from University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada^G, in 1952 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He lived in 2003 at 71 Green Bush Road, Willowdale, Ontario, Canada^G.¹

     Fyodor Ivanovitch Kramarev lived at Peterhof, Russia^G.¹ He lived at Vrsac, Serbia^G.¹

     Elizabeth Kramarev is the daughter of Fyodor Ivanovitch Kramarev.¹ She married David Steuart Erskine, son of John Steuart Erskine and Rachel Diana Mary Rickman, on 10 May 1957.¹
     She was given the name of Elizavete Fyodorovna at birth.¹ From 10 May 1957, her married name became Erskine.

     John David Erskine was born on 23 September 1958.¹ He is the son of David Steuart Erskine and Elizabeth Kramarev.¹

     Maria Erskine was born on 6 July 1960.¹ She is the daughter of David Steuart Erskine and Elizabeth Kramarev.¹ She married Brian Clow in 1981.¹ She and Brian Clow were divorced in 1990.¹
     She was also known as Mary.¹ From 1981, her married name became Clow.
